I visited Dunhuang Lanzhou Beef Noodle because I was in the mood for some serious noodle action (let's be honest, when am I not?). The portions here are impressively generous, offering great value for money. The noodles were perfectly bouncy, and the broth was bursting with flavor. However, be warned: the spiciness is quite mild, and adding their chili oil doesn't do much to amp up the heat. My sister, a spice enthusiast, added a ton of chili oil, but even then, the broth didn't hit her desired spice level (despite turning a deeper red). For me, though, the spice was just right. Overall, I highly recommend giving this place a try. The food is affordable, the flavors are classic, and the portions are enough to satisfy even the hungriest of appetites (you might need a nap afterward). Unpopular opinion, but I still prefer Lanzhou Handmade Noodles at the New World Mall for their unlimited chili oil and pickled green station (sometimes, you just need that extra kick). If you're craving delicious noodles and are okay with a mild spice level, Dunhuang Lanzhou Beef Noodle is definitely worth a visit! :)

They changed locations, and it is now located closer to main street. I ended up going to the original location, and that's where I found this out. They were kind enough to point me in the right direction. I went to the new location, and it's much larger and more pmodernized compared to the older version. Foodwise, I got the wood-ear mushroom salad, which was a bit bland, so I was able to put chili oil on it, and it gave it a better flavor. I also got the signature Lanzhou Beef Noodles, which came in a soup. It was just average, but price point wise, it was evenly matched. I'm glad I was finally able to try this place as I had it bookmarked.

Found this place on yelp and decided to take a chance and go there with my family for my birthday. Everything was fantastic and everyone enjoyed it and was happy. The service was fast and friendly. It was a clean and comfortable atmosphere. The food was fantastic. Most of us got the signature beef noodle soup. A couple got the lo mein and we got marinated cucumber, eggplant salad and hot chili oil noodles for the table. The only disappointment was that you get a choice of the type of noodle and they didn't ask and I didn't know till it was too late. I much prefer the wide noodles but if you don't specify you get lo mein noodles. Next time I won't forget!

Great hole in the wall! A bowl of beef soup cost for 13$. The noodles were plenty and very delicious. The broth wasn't too spicy, which was great. The only thing I can say is I wish they gave me more meat. I highly recommend this place for a great and quick bowl of soup.

Under a different name in the storefront, I didn't realize it was Dunhuang until I took a look at their burger wrapper. Our noodles came out quickly after we ordered. There is a bit of a difference between the Signature Lanzhou Beef Noodles ($11.95) and the Braised Beef Noodles ($13.50), but nothing particularly jarring. Both had the same delicious hand pulled noodle texture, with a welcoming warm broth that will get you wanting more. My pick though, surprisingly, was their Lamb Skewers ($11.95). Their Lamb Skewers came with 5 pieces, and they were fatty, and earthy tasting while glazed in the most beautiful seasoning. Their Spicy Cumin Lamb Burger ($5.95) was full of juice, like a hearty stew in a bun. Dunhuang remains to be my choice for hand pulled noodles, and I'm happy to see how much they've expanded.

All noodles are handmade and it shows in the taste and texture. Depending on the type, they can be hand-pulled (thin) or cut from a sheet (wide). You can specify the width of your noodles for any noodle dish you order. Your choices are: Thin, Regular, Thick, Wide & X-Wide. I love wide pastas like pappardelle, so I ordered the X-Wide for my Beef Noodle Soup. The noodles are cut about 1/2" wide and the edges curl up like lasagna when cooked. They go great with the mild flavored broth and slices of beef and daikon radish. It's also loaded with cilantro, my favorite herb & garnish. After the noodles & beef are gone, I slurp up the bowl of soup. You get a large ladle/spoon, but who needs that? Table manners? Pffft, I'm not too proud to lift the bowl up and drain every last drop. To supplement the noodle dishes, the cold appetizers are pretty good. The Woods Ear Salad was a little more vinegary than I'd like, but my wife likes it that way. The rubbery texture and bite were perfect though. The Spicy Sliced Beef & Tripe is what I liked, with the perfect level of heat for me. If we were more hungry, I would have ordered the Cumin Lamb Buns and maybe some Lamb skewers, but that's saved for next time!

Love when you can eat noodles at 10 in the morning! Small hole in the wall with a good reputation. The traditional Lanzhou Beef Noodles were tasty and satisfied our cravings. Servings were huge! Service was super fast and kind. Will be back!

This is our 2nd time here. Very casual vibe and pretty attentive staffs. Ordered Signagure lan zhou beef noodles (4.5/5) very flavorful beefy flavor and thick noodles we ordered absorbed the broth well. Radish was perfectly soft and cilantro provided hint of refreshing taste. Slices of beef was tender. Ended up adding a lot of chili oil to our bowl just to bring the flavor to the next level. Do that! Braised beef noodles (4.5/5) noodle was fresh and chunks of beef were very tender. Just wished the broth was hotter (temp wise). Broth was flavorful and mild and worked well with bokchoy. Cucumber salad (4/5) refreshing but wish it was colder which would have made this dish more refreshing. Spicy chicken wings (3/5) skin was crispy but had not much flavor. Expected sichuan peppercorn numbing flavor but what i got was vinegarish sour and saltiness. Would def come visit again if we are in the area. Highly recommend!
